How to unlock Kali Sticks in Warzone and Black Ops 6

The infamous Kali Sticks are back in Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 3, and you can unlock the controversial melee weapon for free.

With Verdansk making its long-awaited return, a number of fan favorite features are being added back to Warzone, from Contracts to floating loot. This includes a host of meta guns that dominated the original map back in 2020.

While the Kilo 141 and HDR will be a welcome sight for most fans, the Kali Sticks were one of the most controversial melee weapons in CoD history. They’re also coming back in Season 3, so here’s how to get them in battle royale and Black Ops 6 multiplayer.

How to get Kali Sticks melee in Black Ops 6 and Warzone

The Kali Sticks are the final reward in the Return to Verdansk eventthat begins in Warzone on April 3. This one-off event tasks players with opening safes in different areas of the map to earn exclusive rewards, and you can check out our in-depth guide here.

Once you’ve completed the event and earned all 12 cosmetics, you’ll receive the Kali Sticks as the Mastery reward. They will then be available across BR, multiplayer, and even Zombies, complete with their own camos.

This means that Black Ops 6 players will have to make their over to Warzone if they want to unlock the weapon right away. However, based on previous events, once Return to Verdansk ends on April 15, you should be able to unlock them through the Armory in BR and multiplayer.

Kali Sticks went down in Warzone history for all the wrong reasons.

Despite melee weapons not always being the strongest in Call of Duty, the Kali Sticks became infamous when they dropped in Modern Warfare (2019). Not only were they extremely frustrating to be killed by, but they also offered a major movement buff that meant they were the go-to pick for high-skill players.

This more than made up for the fact that they kill in two hits rather than one, as the sprint speed buff was a worthy tradeoff. It hasn’t been revealed if they’ll offer the same movement increase in Black Ops 6, but the devs have revealed there will be two different kinds of attack.

“Smack them with fast follow-up hits using the weapon’s light attack or take them out in a more dramatic fashion by unleashing the heavy attack,” they said in the Season 3 blog.

We’ll have to wait for the event to begin on April 3 to see if the Kali Sticks dominate Warzone and BO6 just like they did five years ago.
